Can CBD and Keppra be Combined Safely?

Cannabis, a Schedule I substance, is often used in combination with levetiracetam. While this combination is generally safe, it can increase the risk of side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, and difficulty concentrating. People with seizure disorders should consult a neurologist before using CBD oil. It is important to be aware of potential drug interactions and that some people may experience increased seizures when consuming CBD. As a health enthusiast, I take CBD oil and milk thistle vitamin.

Keppra rabies is caused by the liver, and milk thistle stimulates the liver. I'm not sure if CBD oil can effectively calm Keppra's anger, but milk thistle definitely helps a lot. Research has shown that increasing the dose of CBD in pediatric and adult groups can lead to increases in serum levels of topiramate, rufinamide and desmethylclobazam (an active metabolite of clobazam) and a decrease in clobazam levels. Epidiolex, a pharmaceutical formulation of CBD, is approved by the FDA to treat three types of rare seizure disorders (Dravet syndrome, Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and tuberous sclerosis complex). However, it is not approved for many other types of epilepsy.

CBD is a natural compound found in the cannabis plant that is legally derived from hemp and is widely used as a naturopathic remedy for various health conditions, including epilepsy and seizure disorders. At the 70th annual meeting of the American Epilepsy Society, researchers reported that CBD interacts significantly with clobazam, rufinamide, topiramate, zonisamide and eslicarbazepine. It is believed that CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid system which influences various body functions and systems such as immune response, appetite, pain and sleep. Studies have also shown that CBD interacts with brivaracetam, clobazam, eslicarbazepine, stiripentol, rufinamide, topirmate, valproic acid and zonisamide. Caregivers of patients who are currently using CBD products reported significantly less burden and stress compared to caregivers in the control group (13% less). This makes it difficult to determine the exact dose you would receive if you use an over-the-counter product as it may be contaminated with impurities or not even contain CBD.

If you are considering using CBD to treat seizures, talk to your doctor about adding Epidolex to your treatment plan. Epidolex is an FDA-regulated product that eliminates specific risks posed by an over-the-counter product and is approved to treat seizures caused by Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, Dravet syndrome and tuberous sclerosis complex. Johns Hopkins Medicine researchers have demonstrated that CBD can reduce the adverse effects associated with anticonvulsant medications and appears to improve other aspects of the health and quality of life of patients with epilepsy. In addition, they observed significant increases in serum levels of zonisamide and eslicarbazepine with the increase in the dose of CBD in the adult group. 27 patients from the control group at the start of the study started using artisanal CBD products later in the study. The doses of antiepileptic drugs were adjusted according to criteria set by researchers if an adverse effect or laboratory abnormality was considered to be related to a possible interaction between CBD and AEDs.

Studies have shown that CBD can reduce the adverse effects associated with antiseizure medications and appears to improve other aspects of patients' health and quality of life.
